The Trail Hound Gear Shop's manufacturing operation is in full steam. At the "Firefly Studio" located in Fines Creek, NC we manufacture our line of hiking supplies for dogs and their people. Our product line includes a toll-free "trail tag" for your pet, as well as, a full line of hiking supplies for your canine hiking partner. History-Past and Present
The Trail Hound Gear Shop was established in 1999 to promote outdoor activities with dogs. Trail Hound Gear Shop's retail operation (1999-2004) was a nationally acclaimed hiking store for dogs and their appreciative gaurdians. What started as a retail operation is now a branded product line of the Trail Hound Gear Shop. We produce our own brand of gear including: packs, dog coats for visibility and warmth, leashes, collars, harnesses, booties, beds, toll-free member/hiker tags, and accessories.
Future Direction
We are in a development stage going from retail owner/operators to custom manufacturing gear that will grow into an exciting new type of business that will better help our growing customer base.
Our Mission
Our mission statement is innate in our name, Trail Hound. T.R.A.I.L. H.O.U.N.D. stands for "Teach Responsibility And Instill Love Helping Our Unwanted National Dogs™." We have been a coorporate sponsor for the Asheville Humane Society through our Dog Outreach Program (Est. 1999) and have housed a "Concept Shop" that educated, raised funds, threw benefits, and produced advocacy journalism to help the plight of our homeless canine community.
