HAWA is a great place to find your new pet in Haywood County or Western North Carolina. They have been an active part of the community and work to improve the lives of the homeless animal population in the area. They also have an upscale boutique where the proceeds go to help the animals in their care. Located in beautiful downtown Waynesville, NC they have several items for discriminating shoppers, pet owners, and people who want to help a good cause. Holly Help Spay Neuter Fund is a non-profit 501(c) organization that raises funds providing services for spay/neuter and adopting homeless animals. Maggie the Wonder Dog
Check out this site for a fun diversion. "The saying "My Jack Russell Terrior is smarter than your honor student" could be true. This dog and her owners are real classy folks who have graced Jay Leno show, national news, print ads galore, and now model for Target Corp. Maggie's skills have been witnessed first hand by the Trail Hounds (she's a great little hiker too!). Maggie spends half her year in Asheville, NC and half in Sarasota, FL. Best in Show Maggie!

Mast General Store
Mast General Store is an Appalachian Tradition since 1883. Mast sells general merchandise for the mountain home and family. They provide a sense of tradition and excel at customer service in their seven locations across the Southeast (soon to open another in Knoxville, TN in Aug. 06). Lane and his dog "Jade" have thru hiked the Appalachian Trail and are expert hikers with local knowledge.

North Carolina Search and Rescue Dog Association is a regional volunteer group that uses working dogs to help locate the lost and serve the community. Trail Hound is proud to have worked with NCSAR Dog providing gear that makes their job easier. Get the word out and make a donation today.

The Soapy Dog General Store is open! Asheville's first do-it-yourself dog wash has everything you need for pampering your dog(s). Soapy Dog features a great selection of hiking/training gear, pet supplies, premium dog food and supplements, fresh baked cafe treats, flea and tick meds, grooming supplies, dog tags, and specialty items.
